Mesut Ozil could be offered an escape route from the Emirates by Italian club Inter Milan next summer.
The German has been out of favour in recent weeks under new manager Unai Emery, and after he has been left out of the majority of key games this season, could be prepared to leave North London.
After his manager suggested that he could be left out of more physical away trips, Inter Milan could be set to seize the opportunity to convince the midfielder to move to Italy at the end of the season.
Ozil, who is one of Arsenal's highest earners at £350,000-a-week, is due to reconsider his options at the end of the campaign, as reported by English media outlet 'The Sun'.
Inter Milan have long had Ozil on their list of top targets, but were thought to have been discouraged when the German signed a contract extension at the beginning of this year, that is due to run until 2021.
However, the departure of Arsene Wenger in the summer has coincided with a large decrease in playing time for Ozil, and so he could be forced to move elsewhere if he wants to play every match.
The World Cup winner was forced to miss Arsenal's scintillating 4-2 win over neighbours Tottenham this weekend after suffering a back spasm in training.
So, while his present may well be bleak, between injuries and omissions, Ozil take up Inter's offer next summer in order to revive his club career.
