Four years is a very long time when you are in one of the world's best teams. But Luis Suarez has experienced this, as he has not got off to the best start at Barcelona this season, and has not scored away from home for four years in the Champions League.
After being a decisive man for the last Barca conquest, in 2015, the Uruguayan has not scored a goal away from Camp Nou in this European competition.
It´s not that he has always had bad games- He has been decisive and even nearly scored a goal in Lisbon in a meeting a few seasons ago in which the goal was deemed an own goal for the Portuguese team.
However, one thing is for sure, that he has not scored away from home with Barcelona in the Champions League since 2015, in a 1-1 draw with Roma, with which the European Championship kicked off a new edition of the European cup.
He started great in Europa with Barca, scoring 7 goals in 2014-15, to improve in the subsequent campaign, although already cementing his exceptional performance in his performances at the Camp Nou- with eight goals.
His last three campaigns have been quite soulless in Europe, with three goals in 2016-17 and one in 2017-18 and 2018-19.
After his great performance against Valencia and with a much neater physique, the match against Borussia Dortmund presents a new opportunity for Suarez to end this kind of curse. A goal drought that does not do him justice as one of the best scorers in the history of Barca.
