Speaking to Spanish publication 'MARCA', Trezeguet was quick to hail Ronaldo's decision to sample life in Serie A, insisting that both parties have plenty to gain from the arrangement after the question was asked as to why Juventus would invest some much money in a 33-year-old.
"It was a surprise but he will help Italian football and improve his image. His talent will motivate the rest of the team. It's going to help to help all of us do our jobs. He wanted to give himself different goals and carry on winning and at 'Juve' he's going to do just that. It's not a backwards step, if anything it's the opposite. If he has left Real Madrid it's for a reason," he explained.
Meanwhile, the former France international was also asked about whether the next Ballon d'Or winner would be playing in Sunday's World Cup final.
"Yes, it will depend on the result but it's between Griezmann, Mbappe and Modric. I believe in Mbappe more. He's a remarkable find at barely 19 and he's the one with the most potential," he replied.
