Clubs like Wolves and Arsenal have been linked as possible destinations for Diego Costa. Since terminating his Atletico contract, the striker has been looking for a new club. He could well go to the Premier League and he has been recommended to join Man City.
Ex-Man City player Micah Richards said in his 'BBC' column that City are almost obliged to sign Costa. He thinks that they would win the league if they got him.
"Man City are now in very good form, but if they signed Diego Costa now, they'd win the Premier League, I'm sure," Richards said.
"Costa's 32 and I'm not suggesting that he's a long term solution for City, but the former Chelsea striker is a free agent after terminating his Atletico Madrid contract in December and he can join anyone for free."
"Why not have him until the end of the season? He would do more than just ruffle a few feathers and be a pain in the backside for opposition defences: he is a proven finisher who would offer Pep Guardiola's side a proper plan B," he added.
Richards cannot hide the fact he likes Costa: "He is so clever with his movement, and how he occupies defenders. That means more space for others, and Costa would have the same effect. Are you telling me that with the chances that City create he wouldn't get 10 goals between now and the end of the season? Of course he would, and how valuable could those goals be?" he concluded.
