Bruno Fernandes silenced any critics he had by scoring the winning goal for Man Utd against Liverpool in the FA Cup. He also responded to comments saying that he looked tired and that he was not making the difference in big games.

It seems unbelievable, but Bruno Fernandes gets criticised as well. Roy Keane was saying he does not make the difference in big games and there are those who say he looks tired. That came after going four games without scoring, but that goalscoring drought ended against Liverpool.

A goal by the Portuguese gave Man Utd victory against Liverpool in the FA Cup. He moved from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020 and he was the Premier League's top scorer for the calendar year of 2020. He has been player of the month on four occasions and his quality is indisputable.

Bruno Fernandes does not understand the criticism either. "Tired? I can't be tired at 26. If I'm tired now, when I'm 30 or 32, I won't be able to play, I'll one in every five matches. It's obviously not the case, I'm not tired," he replied when asked about possibly suffering from fatigue.

He did not complain about starting on the bench against Liverpool: "Everyone has to be ready to be in the XI or start from the bench. The most important thing is that the team wins. The starters against Liverpool played very well and those of us which came on afterwards helped to win the game which is what matters,"

"It's very important to keep on winning for the team's confidence. We all know that beating Liverpool is never easy and we did it. We pressed well, a bit more than what we did at Anfield," the Portuguese added. He was also happy about his goal: "For me, scoring the winning goal of a match like this, against one of our biggest rivals, is always important."

Lastly, Bruno gave an example of his strength and spoke about the ambition he has going into every match; "I don't like losing and I'm not going to accept that losing matches is something normal. For me, losing isn't normal, so my mentality is as a result of that."
