Journalist Tomasz Wlodarczyk is hoping for the 'Lewandowski saga' to end soon. According to the latest information, the footballer decided to leave Bayern for several reasons. His aim is to play for Barcelona.
The journalist, close to the Bayern forward's inner circle, spoke to 'Sport' about the Pole's intentions. "It's not good either for the player or for Bayern for him to begin pre-season. All eyes will be on him and it will harm Nagelsmann and the team. He does not see himself returning to training in July," he said. "Something broke down time again and Lewandowski wants to embark on a new project. He wants to put Barca back up to the top," he added.
Tomasz Wlodarczyk thinks that the deal could be decided if Barca increase their offer: "The next two weeks will be key. The clubs have to reach an agreement. If Barca reach 50 million, it will be done for sure."
The Catalans have Lewandowski's approval for some time, but they still need to do the most difficult bit: get the Bavarian side's approval. "It's all completed. He will probably sign for two seasons with the option of another one. Likewise, money is not the importnat thing for him in all of this. He's got a house in Mallorca and he loves Spain. Who knows whether he is thinking of a long term project not just on the field, but in life in general," he added.
Lastly, he accused Bayern of treating Gnabry and Lewandowski differently: "I don't understand how sporting director Salihamidzic said the other day that if Gnabry wasn't happy and he doesn't want to renew, the best solutions for both parties will be looked at. It's the same as with Lewandowski, whose contract expires in 2023. Why that difference in treatment?," the Polish journalist asked.
