After Zlatan Ibrahimovic himself confirmed that he'd be heading to the World Cup, his claims were quickly dispelled by the Swedish national side, who successfully qualified without the former PSG striker.
The first to speak out was reserve goalkeeper Karl-John Johnsson who said that Zlatan would not be welcomed back. He went on to add that Ibra is a individualistic person, both on and off the pitch.
If those statements weren't strong enough, Sweden manager Janne Andersson has come out with even more cutting comments, stating that he will not be taking Ibrahimovic to the World Cup.
"Zlatan and other players said 'no' to the national team and said they weren't going to be in the team after the Euros and I respected that," said the boss.
"If you leave the naational side I don't think you should come back," he added. "All the others that said 'no' won't be going either."
"Zlatan hasn't called me, but he's definitely not in my plans for the World Cup," Andersson said conclusively.
