Fali reiterated his refusal to play football if his health was not 100% guaranteed while the coronavirus is a risk for the population. He is the Spanish footballer who has openly refused to return to action.
"My decision has been made, I'm not going to train or play. I know that the president and my teammates love me lots and know that that is my decision. I've said it on other occasiones. LaLiga can be delayed a few months and nothing would happen," he told 'Cope's 'Tiempo de Juego' programme.
"I'm the first who wants to play what is left. But why can't we wait for all this to finish instead of playing while there are 400 deaths a day? Thank God we footballers can go several months without pay until there is a vaccine. And I would do it for all those who don't earn as much and who can't do that. I would prefer to eat a slice of bread with oil over putting myself, my family and my teammates at risk," the Cadiz player said.
Fali asks for tests for everyone not only for the footballers. "Football is showing once again that we care about the rest of the people. The tests I am going to have should be for others who need them more. Is money more important than health? I wouldn't risk my life even if I were getting five billion euros," Fali explained.
"Of course I want to play, I'm the first person interested in winning on the pitch, but there are 400 deaths a day. And we want to train and play? We are going to help in every way possible," he concluded.
"I will quit football if I'm forced to play without getting a vaccine," Fali said several days back.
