"I would like Cristiano Ronaldo to return and to see Mourinho as a coach for a Spanish team. He is a big coach and a big name to promote our league," Tebas said in Portugal.
Javier Tebas attended the Soccerex held in Portugal. There he discussed various themes, such as Joao Felix, Neymar... Curiously, he praised Cristiano Ronaldo, but claims that he is not essential for the league.
"I thought that his departure would affect us more, to be honest. I prefer the Spanish League with Ronaldo than without him. The Premier, for many years, had no winning Golden Ball players and was always the best League in the world. There is a great job to do on several levels. The departure of Cristiano did not affect us so much because we signed several contracts and none reported that they would pay us less for their departure," he said in the program 'Everything is football', of 'Channel 11'.
He also expressed where he stands in regards to the Europa League."We are totally against it. It has a different format than the Champions League and would make the competition practically closed. The format would kill the competition. Economic interests would only serve the biggest clubs, at a time when we are trying to promote competitiveness." he highlighted.
