Atletico Madrid easily beat Betis 3-0. Diego Simeone celebrated it in style in the stands as he was not allowed to be on the bench. That was because of suspension.
Simeone was sent off at the Ciutat de Valencia and, for that reason, he had to follow the games from the VIP area. When asked about the reasons for his red card, he said the following: "The other day I did something I shouldn't have done, ask for a yellow card."
The Argentinian looked at the bright side of it though. "I've watched it from up above and you see much better," he said.
From the VIP area he saw "the most complete performance of the season." "We could've won by a larger margin," Simeone added.
He was especially satisfied at keeping a clean sheet. "We were conceding goals, but from set pieces, not because we were disorganised," he explained.
The Atleti coach also applauded Griezmann for his great match and urged him to keep up the good work. "We found the usual Griezmann, we need him to be like that."
Lastly, he said what type of Atletico we will see from now on: "The only way of playing like we've done against Betis is by working and running."
