Speaking about the upcoming World Cup in Russia, Hernandez said: "It is the best tournament you can play for your country and it's a culmination of being one of the best players for your country."
He then went on to declare himself unfazed by playing on football's biggest stage: "The way I see football, of course you get the pressure, of course you get the responsibility, but the most important thing is if you're in the World Cup playing your first match against Germany, Sweden or South Korea, it's a football match at the end of the day."
Chicharito, who has enjoyed bouts of goalscoring form at West Ham, doesn't find the prospect of another World Cup daunting and believes Mexico have as good of a chance as any side to claim the trophy: "Any team in any tournament, in any league have the same possibilities as any other sides to win."
"You've only got to look two years ago to Leicester City who won the league, then in the European Championships I remember Greece winning against all the odds, against what everything thought they beat Portugal in their own country, so you never know," he continued.
Hernandez concluded by saying that he's visualised himself holding the trophy and made it very clear what his goal is in Russia: "I want to win a World Cup. That's the only thing in my mind."
"Of course I have good memories with the national team and I want to repeat that as much as I can because that will mean that I am helping the team. But the main dream, the main thought, is to be champions."
