Playing at right-back in a Champions League final at the age of 19 is not something that happens to many people, but for Trent Alexander-Arnold, this will be a reality in less than a week.
You could forgive such a young player for being nervous for this sort of occasion, but the Liverpool starlet says he has been training all his life to prepare for a moment like this.
"I have trained for 13 years for these moments, these types of games," he said, speaking to 'The Telegraph'.
"You prepare yourself for it without even knowing. I will keep working hard in the next few days to get better, to improve, to get to a new level."
Alexander-Arnold has the daunting task of trying to contain Cristiano Ronaldo in Kiev, but the Englishman says his focus is on himself. "That is the main thing," he said. "To keep striving, to focus on myself and make sure I get a good game. Then there is more chance of me not giving him [Ronaldo] too many chances to do what he does best."
Even once he finishes playing against Real Madrid, the season is not over for Trent. The defender recently got the nod from Gareth Southgate, and will be travelling to Russia for the World Cup. This is another dream come true for TAA.
"Even though the timing has been a surprise - I never felt right now I would be going to a World Cup - I always dreamed I would be going at some point," he said.
"I have thought things over in my mind millions of times growing up. Every situation that has happened I have imagined."
