The last few hours have been busy for Memphis Depay's future at Barcelona. It was reported that the club showed the former Olympique Lyon man the exit door and that a Premier League team put 23 million on the table for him.
Any financial sum would be beneficial for the Catalans, who signed him for free in 2021. However, the player has his sights set on staying in Barcelona. At least, after what he said in words for 'ESPN' in an event organised in 'Rotterdam'.
"I'm really looking forward to being back in Barcelona and starting again, I can't wait for that time to come. I'm also going to relax with my feet in the sand somewhere before I have to go back to the club," he told at the Red Bull Rhythm.
He also acknowledged that he hopes to improve his finishing in front of goal: "I've had a fantastic run in the national team in the last season and I hope it will be like this.
On the street football event, he commented: "I'm just very active outside football. You are not a footballer forever. It will come to an end and that's why I'm already thinking about other interests. And music is my passion, also travelling around the world, meeting new people...".
