Brazilian Vinicius Junior was the star of Real Madrid's 5-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk, scoring two goals, the second a fine one after dribbling past four defenders, and an assist, in a performance that boosts his confidence to "be the great player" he imagines and that "people at the club imagine".
"I'm still working. I'm 21 years old and I have a lot of time to develop and work and to be the great player that I imagine and that the people at the club imagine. I'm going to fail, it's normal, but I'm going to try again and sometimes it's going to come out. I'm very happy to start the season well," said Vinicius, who has already scored seven goals this season, more than in any previous campaign with Real Madrid.
The Brazilian commented on the play of the second goal: "I always do this play in training and it always comes out, in games sometimes it's a bit difficult, but I'm very happy that it came out and that I scored a goal".
Vinicius also thanked everyone around him for the confidence they give him: "I always deal with pressure very well, I like playing with the best team in the world. The confidence that everyone gives me helps me".
Finally, he was confident about his team's chances ahead of 'El Clasico' against Barcelona on Sunday 24th October (16:15 CEST): "We like these games that are the big ones. We're confident that we're going to do a great job. Now let's rest and enjoy the victory".
