Balotelli enjoyed an eventful spell at the Etihad between 2010 and 2013, scoring 30 goals in 80 appearances for the club in all competitions following his £24m move from Inter Milan.
However, it was off the pitch where he made the most headlines, famously setting off fireworks in his bathroom in 2011 as well as suffering a bust-up with then City boss Roberto Mancini.
Despite the up and downs of his stay, Balotelli says that he loved his time at the club and that he would love to return in the future.
"I love Manchester City. I love Manchester City fans. I love this Club," Balotelli told 'Sky Sports'.
"I would go back to City for free. For me, the year with Manchester City has been the best one of my life."
Finally, the Italian admitted that he struggled to adapt to life in England early on, but is pleased to see City flying high under Pep Guardiola.
"Honestly, at the beginning, it was difficult to live in Manchester, which is different from London, and I struggled a little bit," he said.
"But speaking of football, Manchester City are amazing. I am very happy that they have been doing so well, and I hope they will go on to win the Premier League well in advance."
