"I can’t imagine a Real Madrid without Vini Jr"

Mbappe's arrival in Spain has been one of the most mediatic in recent memory. The French footballer is already a star of Real Madrid and, without a doubt, one of the main weapons of the 'Merengue' team to compete for all the titles. On Sunday night, the French striker gave his first interview in the country in ‘El Objetivo’ of Ana Pastor, in ‘La Sexta’.
"I am very happy to be here, to discover a new country and a new culture. I'm very focused on football, we play every three days and I don't have time for more things," he began about his routine.
Quickly, Mbappe made it clear that he is living a dream at Madrid: "I live in a dream every day to play here. Zidane was my idol, I started because of him. This club has an aura that the others don't have. It is the best in the world. Since Ronaldo arrived I have followed all the matches, he was my other idol. I had this dream and now it's a reality".
"I met him when I was 13 years old here, I spent a week at Valdebebas and I could only talk to Zidane because I didn't know any other language than French. There were possibilities to stay, but it was not possible because of my family. I couldn't come alone, it was a good decision," he added.
There has always been a rumour that Mbappe does not get along with Vinicius or that there is a certain tension to compete for who is the star of the club. Something that he himself has been responsible for denying: "I came with the idea of playing with him, I can't imagine Madrid without Vini. We play well together, we are going to help Madrid".
Ballon d'Or or the Champions League: "The Ballon d'Or is a personal matter, I have always said that playing here is the most important thing. Being part of the history of the best club in the world is priceless, so I'd rather win the Champions League. Goals? I want to score goals, but the most important thing is to make history here and win many trophies, La Liga, the Champions League...".
"I always stick with the titles. People remember the match against City, but I'm a fan of the first times, like the first goal, also the win over City, because people love Champions League nights, but I think above all of the first goal, because it's a dream you have as a child," he added.
He confirmed that he has received offers, although his decision is very clear: "The offers are good, but I'm only thinking about Madrid. I want to make my mark here.
On his relationship with Ancelotti: "Ancelotti is a bit of everything, father, boss, friend, coach.... He is a legendary coach, he has an experience that I don't need to talk about. He has made history here and wants to continue making it".
On his position on the pitch: "It's normal, there is debate. It doesn't affect me. Cristiano knew how to play in all three attacking positions and I've done well in all three.
The French striker doesn't mind about the criticism: "I don't look at the networks, I don't care. It's more difficult to protect those around me. We are in a bubble, but sometimes the people around us suffer. I try to do the best I can, I try to tell them that it's part of the job, one day you are God and the other the devil. It's our job. Every game I know what can happen in the good and the bad, but people on the outside don't handle the pressure in the same way."
Mbappe was candid and spoke about mental health and problems, although he said he did not play badly because he suffered from it: "I know people and teammates who have had depression. I didn't play well, but not because of a mental health issue. I didn't like it when they said that because it's a serious issue. Now people are not afraid to talk about these issues and that's good. I hit rock bottom in a sporting way, not mentally. I have a lot of respect for this issue.
