The out of favour centre-back has not been able to get in to the starting lineup regularly for the 'Villains' this season, making just one league appearance.
The former Bournemouth player joined Aston Villa in 2016, but spent last season on loan at Reading after John Terry joined the club, playing just four times for the 'Royals' due to injury.
He will now complete a medical at struggling Championship side Hull City ahead of another loan spell away from Villa Park according to 'Sky Sports'.
Should he join the 'Tigers', he will become the seventh signing that the club have made this summer, after a raft of senior players such as Michael Dawson and David Meyler left the club.
