FT: Huddersfield 1-1 Manchester United! All credit to Huddersfield for digging deep to restrain United at home. Despite already being relegated, the home side put out a gutsy performance to hold a lack-lustre United to a draw. Solskjaer's men have next to no mathematical chance of UCL football as Chelsea posted a convincing win at home to Watford.
  • 98'
Rashford has a go from the inside left but Lossl gets down well to stop it.
  • 97'
United have had a few chances in these closing minutes but nothing threatening.
  • 94'
Lossl booked for what I can only assume is time-wasting. Fair enough.
  • 91'
Diakhaby comes off for Huddersfield goalscorer Mbenza.
  • 90'
A whopping eight minutes of added time, thanks to the farcical performance after Huddersfield's goal regarding the replacement of the corner flag.
  • 88'
CHONG WITH A SHOT FOR UNITED! Lossl gets down in lightning speed to get a hand to the shot that might have snuck in at the far post!
  • 88'
United totally lacking energy, motivation, desire... all the things you would expect a team fighting for a Champions League spot to display. Nope!
  • 86'
United getting desperate now. Huddersfield are still focused in defence.
  • 85'
McTominay attempts an interesting tactic as he tries to chest it towards goal from Rashford's cross.
  • 84'
Lossl in possession of the ball and takes a while over the kick.
  • 84'
Huddersfield hanging on well as United start to look panicky. They need a win otherwise their top four spot is mathematically unreachable.
  • 82'
Rashford with a shot that's bending and curling all over the place! Lossl does well to watch it all the way before punching away to clear.
  • 81'
If only Huddersfield could find this performance earlier in the season!
  • 80'
Huddersfield with a corner after Mbenza's cross is deflected. He made a pacy run up the right flank beforehand, promising!
  • 76'
McTominay looks alright but the physios are there to accompany him to the sideline. Thank goodness!
  • 75'
McTominay is the latest to go down with an injury after Lossl catches him in the head with a punch away. Head injuries have been a common theme across football recently. Let's hope it doesn't continue!
  • 74'
More bad news for United, Chelsea have a third!
  • 74'
United now have just over 15 minutes to salvage a much-needed win! Mata and Rashford combine but just can't find the target, however.
  • 73'
Huddersfield fans are in full voice! "We're going down!" They may well be going down but they could claim a win here against a United side who lack any sort of motivation and grit.
  • 69'
Huddersfield with men back to try and prevent United from scoring a second. Despite having nothing to play for, they could be thinking of doing other top-four contenders a favour perhaps...
  • 65'
Almost six minutes after Huddersfield's goal was scored, we are back underway. That was almost comical.
  • 64'
This is not ideal for Huddersfield who will have wanted to take the momentum from there goal forward but Huddersfield's groundsmen are currently wasting precious minutes replacing the corner flag...
  • 63'
We are still awaiting a restart here... not entirely sure why.
  • 61'
Lossl collected McTominay's header and immediately set Mbenza away up field with only Shaw back for United. Perfect counter and De Gea, well...
  • 61'
GOOOOOOOAAAAAALLL!!! Huddersfield have the equaliser!!! Mbenza slides one through De Gea's legs. The United goalie is in keeping with his poor form as that shot wouldn't have troubled a De Gea of a few seasons ago. United's top four finish back under pressure!
  • 59'
Schindler is back to get in the way of a forward pass but his interception goes for a corner.
  • 58'
Ander Herrera's ball towards Rashford is too heavy and Huddersfield let it go for a goal kick.
  • 56'
Herrera follows suit and blasts a shot well off-target.
  • 55'
Chong is straight into the action setting up Mata for the cross. The Spaniard dithers too long and Huddersfield hold him off.
  • 54'
United make two substitutions - Matic off Herrera on. Sanchez off Chong on.
  • 53'
Alexis Sanchez is down receiving treatment and it looks like Ander Herrera could be introduced.
  • 51'
If the scorelines stay as they are for this match and Chelsea's, United will be two points behind Spurs in fourth going into the final day.
  • 50'
Chelsea with a second after David Luiz's header.
  • 47'
Shaw picks it up for United and blasts it wide after Hogg failed to completely clear the danger.
  • 47'
Chelsea have scored a goal just one minute after the restart at Stamford Bridge! That puts them into third in the table.
  • 46'
AND WE'RE BACK! United this time get us underway!
  • 45'
In other news, it's goalless at the break between Chelsea and Watford.
  • 45'
HT: Huddersfield 0-1 United! Solskjaer's men take a one goal lead into the break as a reward for their dominance. Huddersfield managed to muster chances of their own but Lindelof in defence stood in the way of goal. It's likely United will continue to dominate after half-time, but football is unpredictable after all!
  • 45'
Rashford gets a header in to clear the danger and we go into half-time.
  • 45'
Huddersfield's corner should be the final action of this first half.
  • 45'
Mooy attempts to set Ahearne-Grant free but the number 16 is sandwiched between the two central defenders.
  • 45'
    Two minutes of added time.
  • 45'
Rashford comes off worse from an aerial tackle and is immediately seen to for what looks like a head injury. He's OK to leave the field unaided and should return for the final few seconds of regulation time at the end of this first half.
  • 44'
Huddersfield perhaps should have had a throw in, and doesn't Jan Siewert know it! He's fuming! A tad over the top methinks...
  • 44'
As we approach half-time Huddersfield are on the hunt for an equaliser. They haven't been too far away but United have certainly dominated. In all honesty, Solskjaer's side should have two or three.
  • 42'
GREAT SAVE LOSSL!! Mata's cross comes in and Pogba's proceeding header very nearly sneaks under the bar but for a fantastic diving save from Lossl who gets his fingertips to it! It's enough and for now, United are just the one goal ahead.
  • 40'
Phil Jones is sloppy in defence giving possession away in front of goal. Huddersfield are in but for De Gea's low save with his right leg. United under a little bit of pressure!
  • 38'
Mbenza very nearly gets on the end of the cross but Lindelof, who has played well this first half, gets a toe in for the corner.
  • 37'
Lossl taps the ball out of Rashford's reach, bringing the Englishman down. On first glance, it looked like a penalty but the referee says no. Rashford didn't appeal either.
  • 36'
United have lost a bit of the momentum they had after scoring the goal.

Yellow card

a Manchester United
  • 33'
Phil Jones receives the first yellow card of the match and Huddersfield have another free kick. It's a bit too far out to look threatening but it's a chance!
  • 32'
Ahearne-Grant goes down after what looked like a clash of heads. He's receiving medical attention but should be fine to carry on.
  • 30'
Huddersfield have a free kick but it clips the wall, eliminating the danger.
  • 29'
Huddersfield make a rare break into United's box but Lindelof is there to challenge before the cross becomes dangerous.
  • 28'
Bacuna fails to cut out the forward ball and United come marching again. Huddersfield are giving them all the space in the world to work away at a shot. Eventually Pogba fluffs it and Huddersfield have some respite with the ball.
  • 26'
Rashford flies onto the end of Sanchez's cross, managing to keep it in play, only for Lossl to gather. Huddersfield under some serious pressure now!
  • 25'
Rashford squares it to Mata who attempts to curl it inside the left post. Not far away and United are picking up the pace now!
  • 24'
This time Bacuna is allowed to dance his way through the defence before getting a shot away. It's wide but who knows whether De Gea would have had it covered if not..
  • 20'
United are in complete control ... of possession. As of yet, they are yet to make any of their set pieces count and are being wasteful really.
  • 18'
Rashford is almost through for United but Kongolo gets back to time his intercept to perfection.
  • 17'
A United corner comes in but Lossl reads it well to catch and try to release Huddersfield on a counter attack. United are wise to it and are back in possession.
  • 15'
United with another free kick which clatters the wall before Pritchard attempts to clear before injuring himself in a tackle. He looks a little battered and bruised but he picks himself up and carries on.
  • 13'
OGS is up out of his seat to encourage his team. They do need more goals if they're serious about challenging Chelsea for the final UCL qualifying spot.
  • 12'
Young aims a corner kick at the centre of the box which finds Lindelof. The United defender is slightly surprised it got as far as him but Huddersfield have a free kick in their box before Lindelof can get control.
  • 11'
Sanchez drags Durm to the ground to get past and put a cross in. It finds Rashford who can't quite tap it past Kongolo but to be honest, it should never have got there in the first place after Sanchez's clear foul.
  • 9'
The Huddersfield keeper could have done a lot better there. It's a shame because his defence were doing well to keep United at bay until that point. They will need to work hard to ensure United don't run away with this one.

GOOOOOOAAAAAAAALLLL UNITED!! Scott McTominay dances through the defence before releasing a left foot shot that Lossl couldn't get hold of. Great start for the visitors!
  • 7'
United are in possession but Huddersfield aren't making it easy by pressing really high in attack.
  • 6'
Rashford behind the free kick and his effort sails straight through to Lossl. No danger there.
  • 5'
Oh dear... Sanchez is down after a challenge from Schindler. He's up but doesn't look happy. United free kick.
  • 3'
United now with the ball, immediately looking towards Rashford and Sanchez up front. For now, they'll have to work it through midfield as Huddersfield are standing strong in defence.
  • 2'
United are pressing high but it's Huddersfield's possession at the moment.
  • 1'
The referee blows his whistle to get us underway! Huddersfield have the first kick of the game!

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has commented on starting Alexis Sanchez: “He's been waiting for an opportunity. He's been injured for a while & working hard to get back, so hopefully we can see a sharp Alexis with the attitude and hunger to get goals because we need goals to win the game".
  • PRVW
Manchester United certainly have something to fight for this afternoon as, somehow, they are still within touching distance of a Champions League qualifying spot. They are three points behind Chelsea, who also play today, so a win is all Solskjaer and his men will be thinking about.
  • PRVW
Huddersfield will have to muster some motivation from somewhere, since they are already relegated, but perhaps a send-off for their chairman Dean Hoyle is on their minds.
  • PRVW
Aaron Mooy was absent for Huddersfield's defeat to Liverpool, but returns for today's match. He is welcomed with a promising outlook as his team have lost 21 out of their last 23 games...
  • PRVW
The main news regarding line-ups is that Alexis Sanchez gets his first start for United in two months! Could it be a sign that he is attempting to resurrect his career? Or are the likes of Lukaku and Martial being phased out?
  • PRVW
