The sad relegation of Huddersfield from the Premier League, confirmed after their 2-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Saturday, almost broke a Premier League record.
Only Derby County in the 2007-08 season were relegated earlier in the season than the Terriers. They went down on March 29, while Huddersfield have only last one day longer, going down on March 30.
Huddersfield were promoted from the Championship in 2017 and miraculously managed to avoid immediate relegation in the 2017-18 season.
This season has been a different story, however, and not even a change of manager could save them from the drop. Fulham, with only three points more, look set to be the next team to go down.
