Gonzalo Higuain was one of the main protagonists in Tuesday's Champions League tie between Juventus and Tottenham. Despite suggestions he was offside, the Argentine put his team ahead with a tidy volley.
His goal came after just 73 seconds, making it the second fastest goal that Juventus have scored in a Champions League game. The fastest? In 1997, it took Alessandro Del Piero 20 seconds to put his side 1-0 up against Manchester United.
It didn't take long for Higuain to double his tally in the game, slotting home from the penalty spot after nine minutes and 20 seconds. This statistic makes him the scorer of the quickest brace in Europe's premier club competition.
With a time of eight minutes and seven seconds between his two goals, the striker claimed Julio Cruz's record, who scored two goals for Inter Milan in eight minutes and 30 seconds against Spartak Moscow in the 2006-2007 season.
Unfortunately, the ex-Real Madrid man couldn't round off the perfect game, lashing a penalty against the bar in the last minute of the first-half to deny himself a hat-trick.
