'Chicharito' has had a mixed season with the 'Hammers' after moving from Bayer Leverkusen last year, so much so that there was constant speculation linking him with a move away from London in January.
However, David Moyes has since left the club and been replaced by former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, offering the Mexico international a lifeline.
But despite the changes, Hernandez refused to fully commit his future, arguing that he will decide after the World Cup.
"Of course I am a West Ham player still, but we'll see," he told reporters during a press conference in Los Angeles ahead of Mexico's friendly against Wales on Tuesday morning.
"Right now what can I tell you? I'm glad there's a new manager? I'm sad there's a new manager?
"It's not the moment to speak about this. My mind is 100 per cent on the World Cup."
'Chicharito' is expected to play a huge part for Mexico in Russia, where the Central American country will face Germany, South Korea and Sweden in the "Group of Death".
