After having their transfer embargo lifted on Thursday, Garry Monk's Birmingham kicked off their season at home to Norwich City.
Lone signing Kristian Pedersen made his debut for the 'Blues', who nearly fell behind to a Jordan Rhodes header in the first-half, only to be saved by goalkeeper Connal Trueman.
With the game still at a stalemate at the beginning of the second-half, the game became more open and midfielder Jota should've put Birmingham ahead but instead was unable to beat Tim Krul in the Norwich goal.
Not long after, Jacques Maghoma put the 'Blues' in front after firing in from a corner in the 56th minute.
Onel Hernández equalised for the 'Canaries' to make the game 1-1, though six minutes later Birmingham thought they had the game on when Viv Solomon-Otabor finished from a ball over the Norwich defence.
This was not to be, as Hernandéz completed his brace deep in stoppage time to earn Norwich a point.
