Hermoso ends his stint at Bayer Leverkusen after undergoing surgery

Bayer Leverkusen's Mario Hermoso, on loan from Roma, has undergone successful surgery on the right pectoral muscle tendon injury he suffered on Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the season, the club announced on its website.
The Spanish defender, who suffered the injury during the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie against Bayern Munich (0-2), underwent surgery in Madrid and will complete his rehabilitation in Leverkusen.
Hermoso, after arriving in January on loan from the Roman side and playing a total of seven games for Xabi Alonso's side, played what was probably his last game for the Germans, as his loan spell ends in June.
Since his departure from Atletico Madrid last June, the Spanish defender has had no continuity, as he was slow to sign for Roma and subsequently went on loan to the German champions.
