Erling Haaland now knows what it is like to celebrate a goal in a Premier League. The Norwegian striker opened the scoring at the Olympic Stadium to give Man City against West Ham.
The home side had started strongly and had been brave in the opening minutes, but, gradually, Pep Guardiola's side took charge of the game. And with less than 10 minutes until the interval, their main star appeared.
In the 36th minute, Gundogan played a lovely pass into space and Haaland pounced on it before Areola could get there.
The goalkeeper, who had come on shortly beforehand due to Fabianski's injury, went down to ground to try and get the ball, but the Norwegian reached a second earlier. The French goalkeeper brought the striker down and the referee pointed to the penalty spot.
There was no doubt on the pitch or in the VAR hub and the former Borussia Dortmund decided to take the spot kick himself. He sent Areola, who dived to his left, the wrong way and Haaland had his first Premier League goal.
