Guardiola gunning for 100
Manchester City's 2017/2018 team don't seem to be growing tired of etching their name in the history books. Having already set records for the most goals in a Premier League season (105) and the most wins (31), Pep's sky blue army are now aiming for a never-seen-before 100 points tally.
Not only that, but should they emerge victorious against Southampton down on the South Coast, they'll also record the most Premier League points picked up on the road in a single campaign (50).
Speaking before the tie, City boss Guardiola said: "We have 97 points, have scored a lot of goals and won a lot of games, that is a consequence of the season we have done. Now we want 100 points and finish this almost perfect season in the Premier League."
Despite their unrivalled class in their domestic league, City's performances in Europe have left a lot to be desired. Pep's men tasted defeat on four occasions in the Champions League this season, including a humbling 5-1 aggregate loss at the hands of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
Guardiola lifted the Champions League trophy twice as manager of Catalan heavyweights Barcelona and will be determined to add the coveted trophy to City's evergrowing cabinet next season.
