The City boss said that the game was similar to the defeat to Chelsea, as they dominated the game but this time they managed to take their chances and get the three points.
"They were lucky in the first half (to be 1-0 up). It was a Premier League game, a good game for everbody," he said in an interview with 'BBC Sport' after the match.
"It was quite similar to Chelsea, but at Chelsea we didn't win and today we won. We dominated, we created chance".
He added: "The guys give absolutely everything each game, that is why I'm so happy to be their coach.
Guardiola also conceded that his side are a long way from where he wants them to be, but says that facing opponents like Arsenal "is not easy".
He said: "We are far away from where we'd like to play, but it's not easy. The high pressing from Arsenal is really good and they defend compact, but we did it".
