City will host Lyon in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final this weekend. Lyon are the defending champions, and succeeded in knocking City out at this stage in the competition last year.
Guardiola, who was unable to lead the men's team beyond the quarter-finals this year, was asked if he had any words of wisdom ahead of the match. He replied: ''I didn't get to the semi-final so they have to give me advice!''
He noted that they will face a difficult opposition and called on City fans to support the women's squad. He said: ''Hopefully our Manchester City fans, before our game, can come and watch because the women's team needs our support.''
City Women's manager Nick Cushing, thinks that although they are not the favourites heading into the first leg, it could work in their favour.
He said: ''We know we are the underdogs. It is almost a free-hit for us because people probably don't expect us to beat this team. They are two-times champions and have a plethora of talent but we are a good team as well and have nothing to lose.''
Cushing added: ''We will just go out and play and try and be the best we can be.''
