"There is probably partly a cause and effect on his performances and his time at Barcelona so far. He is in a situation which is on the sideline, he is no longer playing in the middle, with new points of reference to find," Eric Olhats analysed on the programme 'Rothern Regale' on 'RMC Sport'.
Olhats would not have insisted on Griezmann going to Barcelona. "If he had been my player, I'm not convinced he would have been mad about going to Barcelona. Despite everything that was said, that he would have fluidity... Yes, as long as you play in the position which suits you best. That is something I warned him about, by the way," he pointed out.
"But I'm not Valverde and I don't know what has been planned o what has been said in conversations. What I have realised is that there was a strong and insistent desire from his part to go to Barcelona. I'm a bit sad about that situation, I knew it was going to be difficult. I feel he was sold a project in which he was going to occupy a post that had his qualities in mind, in relation to Messi. However, that is not the case," Olhats said. "They might need to play him further back. They might need to play him in another position or as the main striker," he continued.
Although he named Leo Messi, he believes his relationship with Griezmann is civil. "Knowing Antoine, it's not in his temperament to fight with him. I'm not too concerned about their relationship because he is a nice guy. He will put up with him and try and be as conciliatory as possible," he declared.
Do you see Griezmann away from Barcelona? "When you are a player and don't play, you know what follows,"
