Griezmann blasted in France after Turkey defeat

France fell to an unexpected defeat at the hands of an aggressive and plucky Turkey side, failing to even register a shot on target in a disappointing defeat.

This stat is particularly shocking considering the quality of attackers that Didier Deschamps had at his disposal, with Giroud, Mbappé and Griezmann all on the pitch. In particular, the Atlético Madrid forward was singled out for his poor performance.

'Le Parisien' rated his performance at a measly 3/10, saying:  "His link-up play with Mbappé troubled nobody in the Turkey defence. In the box, he barely had half a chance. Outside the area, he was drowned by the fighting spirit of the Turks".

It wasn't just Griezmann who was criticised, however: "There were no shots fired at goal in 90 minutes. 'Les Bleus' were completely harmless against Turkey. The logical consequence of individual failures in attack".
