Three goals in the opening 15 minutes gave Leicester a 2-1 advantage but by the 52nd-mark, Spurs were back level 3-3.
However, the 'Foxes' were the first to strike after the break thanks to a wonderful hit by Kelechi Iheanacho.
The forward left Victor Wanyama in his wake, running 25 yards with the ball before striking a moving left-foot shot past Hugo Lloris.
Two minutes later and Spurs had pegged it back to 3-2 after Erik Lamela tapped-in a squared pass from Kyle Walker-Peters.
The Argentine striker was in the mix for Tottenham's third. Lucas Moura backheeled the ball to Lamela whose shot was blocked by Harry Maguire but an unfortunate deflection off Christian Fuchs sent it flying into the top corner.
After the electric start to the second-half, Spurs had the game between their teeth and edged ahead for the first time through Lamela.
Walker-Peters presented Lamela with another tap-in as Tottenham lead 4-3 after 60 minutes.
