Storm Sabine is plaguing Germany. To avoid any possible risk, Borussia Monchengladbach v Koln has been postponed.
"In the run-up to and for the duration of the game, the meteorologists of the German Weather Service (DWD) are not yet expecting a storm in Mönchengladbach, but shortly after the final whistle, Storm “Sabine” should move through the region and reach its climax at night", the hosts informed on their website.
The reason for the postponement of the match is because Gladbach don't want to take risks when the match ends. "Safe departure of the fans cannot be guaranteed".
"Borussia has decided in close consultation with the city of Mönchengladbach, the fire brigade, the police and the German Football League (DFL) to cancel the game", they explained in detail.
It is expected that the Bundesliga will set a new date for the fixture soon. The last two weather forecasts weren't good, and this morning that decision was finally taken to postpone the match.
