Giuseppe Meazza: a Champions League fortress in recent years

Barcelona are playing for their place in the Champions League final in Milan. After the 3-3 draw in the first leg, Flick's men need to beat Inter at the Giuseppe Meazza if they are to avoid a penalty shoot-out if they are to make it to Munich. A tough task given the level of their opponents and even tougher if we look at the Italians' home record.
Inter have for some time now become one of the toughest bones to crack in Europe, especially at home, where they have become an almost impregnable fortress when the anthem of Europe's top club competition is played.
The Italians go into the second leg on a magnificent run of 15 consecutive Champions League matches without defeat in front of their home fans. Inter's last home defeat dates back to September 2022, when Bayern beat them 2-0 in the group stage. No one has managed to win at the Meazza since then.
Of those 15 unbeaten home games, 12 ended in a Milan win, while the remaining three ended in draws: 3-3 against Benfica in the quarter-finals of the 2022-23 edition, 0-0 against Real Sociedad in the group stage of the 2023-24 season and 2-2 in the second leg of the last quarter-final against Bayern.
A fantastic record in terms of results that is even scarier if we look at the scorelines, with an overall balance of 27 goals for and only 7 against, having kept 11 clean sheets in those 15 matches (73.33% of them). These are devastating statistics that Lamine, Raphinha and Co. will have to break if they want to keep their hopes of a treble alive.
