Giroud scored against his old club in the final!

Emerson was the one in charge of putting the ball to Giroud. The Frenchman surprised Cech with a spectacular header. 

Giroud threw himself to the floor and he headed into the goalie's right hand corner. Cech could not stop it and the deadlock was broken. 

Olivier Giroud, an ex-Arsenal player, was the man who scored the opening goal of the night. Because of his Arsenal past, it was a restrained celebration by the Frenchman. 

His teammates went over to celebrate the goal with him. He received hugs, but he did not celebrate the goal. In fact, he apologised. A beautiful gesture by Giroud.
