The Black Stars international goalkeeper saw the goal fall on his right foot. Afterwards, the Charlton Athletic player expressed his pain on the pitch to the uncertainty of his team-mates.
The frightening moment with Joe Wollacott occurred during a training match at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi, one of Ghana's major cities. Evidently, the goalkeeper was immediately attended to by medical staff.
The Ghana Federation issued a statement: "Joe Wollacott hobbled off during training on Tuesday evening after suffering a soft tissue contusion of the right big toe. He was immediately assessed by the medical team and received emergency treatment.
