Getafe criticise early kick-off after fans suffer heat-related illnesses

Speaking on social media, Getafe business director Alberto Heras criticised the scheduling: “Six people were treated for heatstroke today. Perhaps in September, with temperatures above 30°C, a 14.00 CET kick-off isn't the best choice for fans or players. It's something that deserves serious reflection.
The scorching conditions also affected the pitch. Getafe captain Djene Dakonam was substituted at half-time due to dizziness, with coach Jose Bordalas explaining that the Togolese defender "was not feeling well and had chills at the break". Davinchi replaced him in defence.
Despite the challenging conditions, Getafe secured a 2-0 victory over Oviedo, taking nine points from a possible twelve in their first four league games.
However, the club lamented the health risks posed to supporters and players alike, calling attention to the dangers of mid-afternoon matches in high temperatures.
