Gavi's agent denies Laporta: he has not received any offer

There is trouble with Gavi's renewal at Barcelona. Joan Laporta, the club's president, complained in an interview with 'L'Esportiu' that Ivan de la Peña, the homegrown's agent, is taking so long to respond to his latest offer. He suspects that he is using it to compare it with other proposals. But the situation is quite different from the agent's point of view.
The newspaper 'Sport' reports that De la Peña is angry and surprised by the words of the president. The reason is that he has not received any offer in the last two weeks. The two parties had met and had agreed that the blaugranas would put a contract on the table with the agreed economic conditions and duration, but the agent has had no news since the meeting.
Xavi Hernandez, his coach, believes negotiations are progressing. Speaking at a press conference in Australia on the occasion of the Barcelona team's friendly match against an Australian League All Stars, the coach said he expects the extension of the midfielder's contract to be made official in the next few days.
This does not fit in with the picture that is now discernible from the crossroads between Joan Laporta, who is angry that Ivan de la Peña is not replying to his offer, and Iván de la Peña, who is angry that he has not received any offer from Laporta. In any case, there can only be one truth and Gavi's future is at stake.
