Valencia took the lead in the Copa del Rey final with 21 minutes on the clock when Rodrigo Moreno finished off a good move which started with a long move which Gaya controlled and then he put a perfect ball for Gameiro to fire home after the Frenchman dribbled past Lenglet.

Valencia were elaborating their longest move of the match up to that point. They were approaching the Barcelona area, but they ended up sending the ball back towards their own defence. And then they found the opening.

Garay saw how Gaya was running down the flank unmarked and put him a superb ball, which the Valencia full-back controlled to perfection. After getting away from Semedo, he lifted his head and gave it to Rodrigo who was all on his own on the edge of the penalty area.

The Spanish-Brazilian received the ball and saw how Lenglet was coming like a flash for him. But he reacted in time and beat him with a nice dribble. He just had to shoot at goal and he did so with a thunderous strike with his right foot which surprised Cillessen.
