Although they haven't signed a new striker, Manchester City have a new number 9. Gabriel Jesus will swap his number 33 shirt to take up the most classic number for a centre-forward to wear.
The English champions announced the news through a short video on their social media accounts. In the video, the number 33 on Jesus' shirt is photoshopped out, with a number 9 then replacing it.
This seems to confirm that the striker, who is currently at the Copa America with Brazil, will be staying at the club despite rumours linking him with a move elsewhere.
Although Sergio Aguero was preferred as City's starting striker for much of the past season, Jesus still managed to notch 21 goals and provide six assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.
