Atletico Madrid replaced Diego Costa with Moussa Dembele. The Frenchman chose the Spanish side over a return to Fulham. His former club tried to re-sign him for the second half of the season.

Moussa Dembele was the man Atletico Madrid wanted to substitute Diego Costa and 'Los Rojiblancos' reached an agreement with the player and the French club.

The striker is on loan at Atletico for the rest of the season, but Dembele did have other options. 'Football Insider' reports that Fulham were also after him.

The Premier League side are in the relegation zone and they were keen to get Dembele to have a second spell at the club.

Dembele began his professional career at Fulham, but he decided to go to Atletico Madrid instead.
