A place in the Championship play-off final was up for gabs between Fulham and Cardiff. Nelson scored for Cardiff, but the home side levelled a minute later. Lee Tomlin's volley in the 47th minute put Cardiff back ahead and within one goal of extra time.

Brentford are awaiting the winner of Fulham and Cardiff in the final of the Championship play-offs. The winner of the play-offs gets a spot in the Premier League next term.

Nelson scored the first goal after eight minutes when he headed home a lovely corner by Joe Ralls. However, the Bluebirds' joy was shortlived.

Fulham kicked off and within less than a minute, it was 1-1 and Fulham had a 3-1 advantage on aggregate.

Reid sent a low cross to near the penalty spot and Kebano beat his defender to the ball to hit it first time past Smithies.

Two minutes into the second half, Cardiff went back in front through Tomlin after the goalkeeper saved an initial header, Hector did not clear properly and Tomlin volleyed home from close range.
