The player missed out on the French squad that went on to win the World Cup in Russia over the summer due to his lack of game time for the 'Red Devils' last season.
While the forward did make 45 appearances for the club during the last campaign, the vast majority of those were as a substitute as he found himself behind the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Marcus Rashford in the hunt for a starting place.
Jose Mourinho has been critical of Martial in recent times, and does not have any intention of moving him in to the centre of the attacking three on a regular basis with Romelu Lukaku occupying that space, which means that the 22 year-old Frenchman is looking elsewhere.
It is thought that Chelsea, Tottenham and Bayern Munich could be interested in the signing of the player. His agent made it clear that his client would be open to such a move.
"After thinking about all the factors and possibilities, Anthony wants to leave Manchester United" Phillipe Lamboley said in June.
"We do not share the same vision for Anthony's future. That's why this decision has come – it's a well thought-out decision.
"Everyone will have their opinion but I think he needs to resume his career. The time has come."
Martial is currently playing for Man Utd on their preseason tour of the United States, as their squad is missing many of their star players due to them recovering from playing at the World Cup.
Even if his club are willing to let him go, it will not be cheap as they look to recoup some of the £58 million fee they paid three years ago.
