Public opinion seemed to direct the final towards what would have been a very clear tribute to Johan Cruyff. The guy who instaured a philosophy in Holland and changed a defeatist history in Barcelona. But the beautiful game and the unexpectedness of it has surprised us once again.
A few months ago, an all English final between Liverpool and Tottenham seemed like a joke, but somehow, through luck, faith or forture, that's what will happen on the 1st of June. How? Well the quick answer is that no one can doubt that both Pochettino and Klopp are two of those passionate coaches who are capable of impregnating their teams with the longlasting impression they give off.
Although the German coach is more outspoken, they can both boast of being able to exert great influence on the matches. Good motivators beforehand and able to read the games very well, they have made it clear in this Champions League that they are to be taken seriously, especiallythrough their performances in the semifinals.
It will not be the final of the two teams that have the most admirers around the world, or even the kind of team that makes people fall most in love when they start playing football. But no one can deny that Tottenham and Liverpool are teams full of passion for the beautiful game. Not so aesthetically pleasing, but very exciting. And the beauty of football, as we know, is very subjective.
While we all wait to se what will happen in the final in Madrid, only one thing is guaranteed: nobody should takes for granted what is going to happen until they hear the final whistle.
