After plenty of negotiations, an agreement between AC Milan and Ivorian player Franck Kessie is closer than ever before. The midfielder's contract expires in 2022. This set alarm bells ringing because the player started causing problems when it came to renewing. He started asking for more money.
As a result of this, there was a speculation over a possible departure of the player for free. However, Kessie denied it via 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'. The midfielder said that he is only thinking of staying at the club. "I'm proud to have chosen Milan and I'm not planning on leaving. In fact, I want to stay here forever," the player said.
Both parties hope to seal the new deal in the coming days. An agreement which, up to now, has got excessively complicated. The midfielder wanted his salary to go from two million to six million and the Italian board are not willing to offer more than four million.
Nevertheless, according to the cited media outlet, they could have reached an agreement of five million euros net per season. That is a proposal which the Ivorian sees as a good one. AC Milan will therefore keep a versatile player who fights hard on the pitch and has a bright future. At the moment, the footballer has played 184 games for the 'Rossoneri', scoring 30 goals and giving 15 assists in the process.
