The Champions League last 16 ties will take place in February and March. Fans are looking forward to the Champions League's return.
Real Madrid will take on PSG at home on 15th February in the first leg of the tie while Chelsea will host Lille at Stamford Bridge before travelling to France for the return on 16th March.
For the games in France, Macron's Government are thinking about toughening restrictions, something which would affect visiting clubs. That is because anyone who wants to enter France will have to be vaccinated against coronavirus.
Real Madrid would not have any problems because, according to 'AS', all their players are vaccinated. Therefore, they could enter the country without any problems.
French president Macron is in the spotlight as the French Parliament are debating a new law which would make it difficult for those who refuse to get vaccinated to enter restaurants, theatres and even the country itself.
"I'm not looking to annoy the French people, but I am looking to annoy those who aren't vaccinated. We'll continue like that, that's our strategy," Macron told 'Le Parisien'.
If this measure is imposed, Real Madrid and Chelsea will have to follow the country's laws. That is what UEFA explains in a statement. It says that "in principle" they should obey the orders of the country they travel although UEFA are reviewing their rules. Right now, for example, if a Government's restrictions affect a visiting team, the home side will have to propose an alternative venue so that the match can take place.
