Serie A is in mourning. The death of Davide Astori has caused an outpouring of grief in Italy, and all of today's games in the Italian league have been postponed.
Paulo Dybala was one of the first to share a message of respect for the defender. "I have no words, rest in peace Astori", the Juventus player said.

One of the most moving messages came from AC Milan. "A man who loved football and who grew up as footballer with us. AC Milan are shocked by the passing of Davide Astori. It is with great sadness that we offer our deepest condolences to his family and closed ones and to ACF Fiorentina", the club stated.

Inter Milan also dedicated some words to Astori and Fiorentina: "FC Internazionale Milano express immense sadness at the sudden passing of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori."

Udinese, the team who were due to face Fiorentina today, also bid their farewell to Astori. "The club is deeply saddened by the tragic passing of Fiorentina's captain Davide Astori. We send our love to his family, his friends and teammates", the club said.
And it wasn't just the Italian teams who shared their thoughts; the mourning spread across the whole world of football.
In Spain, Sevilla expressed their sadness at the news, saying they were "devastated".
