'Football Leaks' reveals the fine PSG will give Neymar
After not returning for training with PSG on Monday, Neymar's father put his son's absence down to a series of institutional acts the Brazilian has.
After his absence, PSG issued a statement saying that they would study a possible punishment for the footballer. 'UOL Esporte' had already revealed that it would be a fine, something which 'Football Leaks' has seconded.
'Football Leaks' say that it could go up to 375,000 euros per month if he misses every day of training, which means 12,000 euros a day.
It is to do with the ethics clause which all PSG players have in their contracts. The French club has it to prevent cases like this or the Rabiot one last season.
Rabiot was the latest to fall victim to this clause. The French midfielder was separated from the rest of the group for the second half of the season and had to pay a large fine.
The club, in its statement, had already warned that it would take measures if his behaviour did not change. Although the club now know the striker's desire to not continue at the Parc des Princes, PSG are not allowing the Brazilian to disrespect the prestige of the club.
The ethics clause punishes "absence in training sessions" as well as "lack of punctuality or disrespect towards the media". And it also says that "the aim is to teach the players since the club has a series of values."
And Barcelona are on the horizon. Leonardo himself, the PSG sporting director, admitted superficial contact with the Catalan giants who could try and bring the striker back to Spain.
