Flick on Barca future: "I work year by year to end on a positive note"

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick spoke to the media ahead of the La Liga match against Leganes. The German has opened up about his contract renewal talks, stressing his satisfaction with the club's environment and his commitment to focus on the current season. The German, who joined Barcelona last summer, has quickly become a key figure in the club's resurgence.
“I value what I have here: a fantastic staff, doctors, physios, and a very professional team. The atmosphere is fantastic; for me, it’s like a family. The environment at the club is incredible, and that works very well for us,” Flick said during a recent interview.
Following the team's good results and sensational form Barcelona are keen to extend Flick's contract beyond the current one which expires in 2026, with reports suggesting a possible deal until 2027. However, Flick remains wary of long-term commitments. “I’m not a coach who wants to sign a three-year contract to secure my future. I like to work year by year,” he explained.
Under Hansi Flick, the Catalan giants have exceeded expectations this season, competing for La Liga and achieving impressive results in the Champions League despite limited signings. His tactical approach has revitalised the squad, earning the praise of fans and club officials as well. “Now we are doing well and focused on this season. That’s how I want to work,” concluded Flick.
