COVID-19 has hit Flamengo hard. From the 30th April to the 3rd May, they have been doing tests on all club employees, as well as the players and coaching staff.
In total, they carried out 293 tests and have been able to detect 38 positive cases, although with differences amongst those affected.
"Of the 293 tested, 38 were positive, even without symptoms, and the so-called asymptomatic positives. Eleven people were detected who had previously had contact with the virus, without symptoms, and who already had positive IGG antibodies", the club explained.
Amongst these 38 positives, 3 belong to the first team, while another 2 had those antibodies with positives.
With the results on the table, the players that have been exposed or close to the virus with family members will have to be quarantined and monitored daily.

The asymptomatics will have to do the same and not come in to contact with anyone to avoid the virus spreading.
"Finally, Flamengo reaffirms that it is working in full harmony with the government authorities in order to collaborate with the important return to football activities in the shortest possible time, with total responsibility and security", the statement concluded.
