The International Board (IFAB), an organisation dependent on FIFA, often carry out studies and seek improvements to optimise current football.
In one of their reports, it seems that a captain could have more relevance, according to the news revealed by 'Sport'.
Thus, the IFAB wants to increase the competence of the captain in order to deal with the referee. In this way, they hope to reduce the crowds of players surrounding the referee.
The captain would be in charge of addressing the referee and assistant referees to claim or talk about anything that happens in the match. They currently already have this role, but the IFAB want to strengthen it, intensify it and reduce the crowds of players protesting angrily.
