In recent weeks, FC Barcelona surprised everyone by announcing that Mateu Alemany was leaving on the 1st July. The sporting director will leave his post at the 'Cule' side and everything is pointing towards him going to Aston Villa.
Despite the agreement not being announced officiall, the board have started on working on constructing the side for next season. With that in mind, they have expressed interested in one of Barcelona's players.
Ferran Torres is the chosen one for Mateu Alemany ahead of the upcoming transfer window. However, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', the forward hasn't been contacted by anyone from the Premier League side.
The 23 year old attacker has no intentions of leaving the Barca side as he feels very comfortable there with his teammates, and he's not ruling out the possibility of trying to become one of Xavi's main men for next year.
As for Alemany, he has not yet tried to sign Torres, as he supposedly promised Joan Laporta that he won't nab anyone from the Spanish giants.
We'll have to wait and see what happens in the upcoming transfer window, but it's likely Torres won't be going anywhere after denying rumours and making it clear that he doesn't want to go to Aston Villa. For him, his future is very much at Barcelona.
